Bio

The Chrysalis Chamber Players, now in their sixth season, is a non-profit chamber music ensemble, committed to performing a kaleidoscope of high caliber chamber music. Its core members and founders, musicians local to South Florida, are trumpeter Mary Elizabeth Bowden, flutist Meghan Brachle, and pianist Catherine Lan. They collaborate with a variety of other musicians in innovative and exciting programs around south Florida and across the country. They have featured works in acclaimed performances ranging from Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos to the chamber music of living composers such as Jim Stephenson and Eric Ewazen.

Musicians of the Chrysalis Chamber Players have performed at the Marlboro Music Festival, Banff Centre for the Arts, Bowdoin International Music Festival, Verbier and Lucerne Festivals in Switzerland, and with the Louisville, Naples, Vancouver, Edmonton, New World and Richmond Symphonies, among others. Chrysalis is the recipient of a Yale Alumni Ventures Grant, enabling the group to reach out to students through residencies in south Florida schools.

The Chrysalis Chamber Players, Corp. is a 501(c)(3) organization. Your contributions will help fund both our educational outreach programs, and our unique chamber music concerts.

Our efforts in reaching out to schools are important at a time when many administrators are faced with a decision to eliminate their art and music programs. We believe that students should value music as a necessary part of their education.

We are also pleased to be able to present exciting chamber music concerts, programming works that are not often performed with our unique combination of instruments. Our musicians have performed in ensembles and venues around the world, and we all have a passion for presenting quality chamber music at the highest caliber.
